Aileen Maria, O.D.

Salem, Lawrence

Dr. Aileen Maria has been practicing optometry since 2002. Her connection to eye care began with her father, who practiced optometry in the Dominican Republic. His career inspired her to pursue optometry and begin a career of her own.

Dr. Maria provides comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages, including the diagnosis and management of ocular conditions and co-management with ophthalmologists and other specialists when needed. She also does nutritional therapy, that coincides with her interest in the health and well-being of her patients.

She is fluent in English and Spanish, her first language, and values being able to connect with patients in the language in which they feel most comfortable.

Outside of the office, Dr. Maria enjoys spending time with her family. She loves trail walking, reading, writing, and cooking—simple things that keep her connected to the people and activities she enjoys most.

Philosophy of Care

Over the years, her patients have shaped the doctor she is today. She feels fortunate to care for generations of patients and families and believes that good eye care begins with listening, understanding each patient as an individual, and building trust.

What she finds most rewarding is the people she cares for—the children she has watched grow, the families who return year after year, and the patients who have trusted her with their vision and eye health.

“Dr. Maria is amazing! My daughter and I both go to her and never felt so heard and informative. Thank you!”
